Engine Valve Cover with Gasket for 2011-2016 BMW 535i xDrive
I recently installed the A-Premium Aluminum Engine Valve Cover with Gasket on my 2013 BMW X5 xDrive 35i 3.0L Turbo, and so far, it has exceeded my expectations. The build quality is impressive for the price—clean machining with no burrs in the aluminum. Fitment was spot on, and after logging 300KM, there are no leaks or issues. I replaced my original valve cover due to a major vacuum leak from a failing PCV valve and gasket, which was throwing my BMW into limp mode. After installing this replacement, the vacuum is back within spec (confirmed via Foxwell NT710 live data), and my fuel economy has returned to OEM levels. A-Premium Parts delivered a budget-friendly yet high-quality product with an excellent warranty. Their customer service was outstanding, quickly answering my questions and confirming details. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable replacement.

What does an engine valve cover do?

A component that covers the valve train is an engine valve cover. Its primary function is to prevent engine oil leakage from the engine's upper portion. Modern valve covers can be produced from stamped metal and cast metal. The engine valve cover is located at the top. A sturdy body shields the valves and other engine components. There is a gasket that forms a tight seal between the valve cover and the engine. The oil lubricates the valve train and is kept in the valve cover. Fat splashes up against the valve cover before draining back through the engine head ducts. The oil enters the oil pan by flowing downhill. Without a valve cover, oil wouldn't be re-circulated back into the engine block and it would splatter all over the top of the engine.

Symptoms of a loose or cracked valve cover

  • Low engine oil level
  • Burning smell of oil
  • Dirty engine valve cover
  • Engine misfiring
  • Dashboard warning lights

How to replace a faulty engine valve cover?

  • Put your automobile in position by parking it on a level surface first.
  • Give your car's engine some time to cool.
  • Locate the valve cover and remove it.
  • Eliminate the old valve cover gasket and replace it.
  • Apply silicone to make it adhere (only the area required).
  • After fixing it, you can move the valve cover back and tighten the bolts as necessary.
