What does a throttle body do?

How to clean a throttle body?

Tools needed:

• Screwdriver or socket set
• Throttle body cleaner
• Clean cloth or paper towels
• Safety glasses and gloves

Steps:

1. Safety Precautions:

• Ensure the engine is cool.
• Wear safety glasses and gloves.
• Disconnect the battery.

2. Locate the Throttle Body: Find it between the air intake hose and the intake manifold.
3. Remove Air Intake Tube: If needed, detach the air intake tube to access the throttle body.
4. Inspect and Clean: Use a throttle body cleaner to spray and clean the throttle plate and interior surfaces. Wipe away residue with a cloth.
5. Reassemble: Reattach the air intake tube and reconnect the battery.
6. Start and Test: Start the engine and take it for a test drive to ensure smooth operation.
